As streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Instant Video continue to grow in popularity, the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) are massively suffering. In fact, across both the Comedy and Drama strands of the Best Television Series prize at the 72nd Golden Globes, CBS's The Good Wife is the ONLY major network show with a look-in.
As Orange Is The New Black, House of Cards and newcomer Transparent blossom, the Julianna Margulies-fronted courtroom favourite is the prolific channel's sole chance to bag the top honour. In the Best Television Series - Drama race, it faces three cable shows and one from the internet: Showtime's The Affair, PBS's Downton Abbey, HBO's Game of Thrones and Netflix's House of Cards.
Meanwhile, in the equivalent Comedy scrap, The CW is the biggest network with a look-in; thanks to Jane The Virgin. It faces HBO's Girls and Silicon Valley, Netflix's Orange Is The New Black and Amazon Instant Video's Transparent. ABC, NBC and CBS are all completely snubbed here, with all bar one (Girls) of last year's nominees (The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Parks and Recreation and winner Brooklyn Nine-Nine) omitted.

Netflix generally is enjoying another strong innings. OITNB, which picked up only one nom last year courtesy of Taylor Schilling, has three this time around: in addition to its Best Television Series - Comedy recognition, Schilling is up again while Uzo Aduba is shortlisted for Supporting Actress. House of Cards also has three; a slight dip on its four last year: in addition to Television Series - Drama, it has acting nods for Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright as well.
Amazon Instant Video's critically lauded Transparent is twice-nominated, marking a strong arrival for the relatively new streaming platform. As well as being put up for Television Series - Comedy, its phenomenal central performance from Jeffrey Tambor is nominated for Best Actor in a Television Series - Comedy Or Musical as well.
