Bill Cosby Slams False Sexual Assault Allegations As ‘Victim’ Comes Forward Again

Bill Cosby has made it clear that he will not entertain the numerous sexual assault allegations against him, with a lawyer for the comedian stating that the claims will not be “dignified” with a reaction, just as one of his previous accusers has spoken out again to raise the question as to why the actor hasn't been charged.

In 2004, 13 women came forward to accuse the 77-year-old of sexually assaulting them in the 1980s but the cases weren't brought to trial and were instead settled out of court. With interest in the allegations mounting almost 30 years later, calls for Cosby to personally speak out are mounting, but the actor's lawyer says that will not be happening anytime soon.

In a statement released to several publications including TMZ and the Associated Press, the lawyer said: “Over the last several weeks, decade-old, discredited allegations against Mr. Cosby have resurfaced. The fact that they are being repeated does not make them true. Mr Cosby does not intend to dignify these allegations with any comment. He would like to thank all his fans for the outpouring of support and assure them that, at age 77, he is doing his best work.”

The lawyer's statement came a day after Cosby refused to address the shocking allegations during an interview with NPR host Scott Simon, who has explained the moment Cosby brushed off the question. “He began to shake his head and wag his finger. He gave what I would refer to as that impish, delightful Cosby smile of his,” Scott told CNN.

On Thursday, Barbara Bowman, who was reportedly one of Cosby's alleged victims in the ‘;80s, sat down for a candid interview with CNN in which she detailed what she claims to be one of the sexual assault incidents carried out by Cosby against her when she was a teenager.

Explaining why she didn't press charges straight away, Bowman explained: “Well, I tried. I told my agent one time and she did not believe me. A friend of mine took me to an attorney in 1989, he laughed me out of the office. At that point, nobody would believe me, he was Dr. Huxtable, he was America's dad, everybody loved him, I loved him, I wanted him to be my Dad. And nobody believed me.”
