Speaking of his former fiancee's rumored romance with the Jonas Brothers member, Brian says, 'She told me about it beforehand but there's a warning from me - if anyone hurts her, they're dead.'Nick Jonas has got a strict warning from Delta Goodrem's former fiance, Brian McFadden. Soon after photos of him holding hand with the Australian singer surfaced, the 18-year-old singer was advised by the former Westlife member not to break her heart as saying, "There's a warning from me - if anyone hurts her, they're dead.
Brian seemingly confirmed Nick and Delta are in a relationship when speaking to the Daily Telegraph. Of the rumored romance, he said, "You see [the photo] and accept it for what it is. It was positive. She looks happy, if she's happy I don't mind. She's on a date with a guy, she's got a smile on her face. If she's happy I'm happy."
The 31-year-old continued to say, "I'm a straight shooter. If I didn't like it I would have said something or cracked it on Twitter. I didn't mind." He also noted that Delta has informed him she was going on a date with Nick. "She told me about it beforehand, whatever makes her happy," so he claimed.
About his split from Delta, Brian insisted he was not dumped. "I'm a hothead, if I was dumped everyone would have known about it," he said. "I definitely wasn't dumped. It was a completely mutual decision. We both knew what we were doing, we knew it was the right time (to end it). It is sad. Seven years is a long time together, you become a massive part of each other's lives."
On report suggesting that their long-distance relationship caused the break-up, he responded, "It wasn't distance that killed it. Nothing killed it. We just knew we'd grown apart. People will look for excuses but sometimes things can be done for the right reasons and be amicable. People want some bad or negative reason about why we're not together and there's not one."
Brian began dating Delta in 2004 following his separation from wife Kerry Katona. They became engaged in 2007. After seven years together, the couple announced in April this year, they have parted ways. Their statement read, "Delta Goodrem and Brian McFadden regretfully announce that they are no longer engaged, and after much consideration, have mutually decided to end their relationship."
