Jordin Sparks Reveals Why She’s Dissing Ex-Boyfriend Jason Derulo On Her New Song

Jordin Sparks released a sample of a new track two weeks ago, and it was quite a shock to some of her fans when the lyrics were dissing her ex-boyfriend Jason Derulo. Now Jordin has come out to explain why she blasts him on the new record, and how it came about in the studio.

Speaking to E! News, she revealed that she felt a strong need to show her fans that side of her. She didn't plan for it to happen, she just got the urge once she arrived at the studio.

“That day I was having one of those days where I was like, 'I'm just going to do it and I want my fans to hear this side of me. They need to hear it.'…My fans wanted to hear something but at the same time it wasn't really planned and I just went into the studio and whatever came out, came out," she explained.

The track is a remix version of Drake's How Bout Now, and it will be on her upcoming album called Right Here, Right Now.

Jordin, however, has no problem with the song attracting attention for the wrong reasons. In fact, she expected it to, which was why she was a bit nervous to release it.

“I knew it was going to get crazy,” she admitted. "I was nervous to put it out there because no one had ever heard me like this before."

Jordin Spark and Jason Derulo broke up in September of this year, after being together for almost three years. Many had thought the two would eventually get married as one song on Jason Derulo's current album is titled Marry Me.

However, based on Jordin's lyrics, things weren't going so well after all. She accuses him of not being grateful for everything that she did for him.

"Feeling like I have to get all of this off my chest," she sings. "I know you are sitting there thinking ‘;What is she going to do next?'/ Remember I deleted all my other guys' numbers out my phone for ya?/ Remember when you broke your neck and I had to wash your back for ya?/ You probably don't remember half of the s--t that I did for ya."

Ouch! We can't wait to hear what else she has to say on the album!
