If there was ever a couple guaranteed to make a good looking baby it's Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling, but a picture shared on Ellen DeGeneres of baby Esmerelda earlier today (Dec. 3) has left us second guessing...
Luckily, for us, and Esmerelda, the pic was a fake. Speaking on Ellen DeGeneres about motherhood, Ellen asked the new mum if she could share a photo of the new addition with the audience, to which Eva - who hasn't shared a photo of her baby with the public yet - surprisingly obliged but once we saw the picture it all made sense...
"Do you mind if I show a picture first?" DeGeneres asked.
"The one I sent you?" the Hitch actress replied. "No."
"I mean, Ryan Gosling is the dad, so you can imagine how gorgeous this baby is," the TV host said. "Between the two of them..." Ellen then proceeded to show a composite photo of Mendes and Gosling on a screen behind them. The spooky image prompted Mendes, 40, to sarcastically reply, "Isn't she adorable?"

DeGeneres then smiled and replied, "She looks like both of you I mean really! She looks like both of you, doesn't she? It's hard to say who she's more like." The stunning brunette said she "couldn't stop staring" at the mock-up image and joked that the fake baby looked "very exotic".
"You're putting make-up on her already," the TV host quipped. "She's really pretty."
The star's appearance on the show comes just 11 weeks after welcoming her firstborn Esmerelda Gosling. Starting the interview, Ellen played a clip which saw Mendes appear on the chat show during the early stages of her pregnancy, and deny that she was expecting. The comedian then poked fun at the actress for lying, but Eva stood by her decision to deny that she was pregnant. "I was so early on. All mum's will understand, you're not supposed to tell anybody during your first- well, certainly not the world - in your first trimester," she said. "And my mother didn't even know yet. So that would have been an awkward phone call. 'Hey, mum, did you catch Ellen today?' Um, oops!"

The Place Beyond the Pines star also dished the dirt on how she was finding the first couple of months of motherhood, and admitted that she was "exhausted"... but that it was worth it! Asked if her daughter slept through the night, Eva replied, "No! No! God no! She's two months! You know we're getting the hang of it, the sleeping thing, but yeah, I'm exhausted and it's the best. Really, I'm so incredibly tired. I thought I was tired before at times, but no. Nothing like this! But I wouldn't have it any other way."
