Miley Cyrus has come under fire for posting photos of her jokingly painting her pet pig's toenails to her Instagram page.
The star clearly thought fans would see the funny side when she shared the photos on Nov. 6, instead the photos led to a backlash online as many accused of her "animal abuse" and some even labelled her a "pig".
The first image was a close-up of the boar's trotter as it was painted in a flouresent red nail varnish, "Pig Pig gonna be lookin fresh," she wrote. The second image saw Miley holding her pig while her and a friend laughed as the pig - who didn't look quite so amused - was brushed and given a pedicure.

"Why would you do that?? Thats animal abuse (sic)," one user wrote after seeing the controversial pictures. "OMG! Are you stupid?! Poor pig! :(((( (sic)," wrote another.

The boar - named Bubba Sue - was adopted by Miley in August and isn't the only pet the Adore You hitmaker boasts a close relationship with. The singer recently purchased a new puppy named Emu, who she was seen brushing her teeth alongside in a more recent Instagram post.
