Harry Styles Chooses Partying Over One Direction Band Mates

When bandmates Harry Styles and Zayn Malik chose not to fly to Australia with the rest of One Direction, there was just one word on everyone's lips - split! But have no fear, it turns out that Harry just wanted to stay in Los Angeles for an extra night to party and after winning three American Music Awards, including Artist of the Year. Can you blame him?

Following their night of triumph, Liam, Louis and Niall were straight on the next plane Down Under, leaving party boy Harry and bandmate Zayn behind to celebrate being the number one artist in America. Thankfully the duo arrived in Sydney just in time for their red carpet appearance at the ARIA awards and now we know why.

Shutting down any rumours of a rift in the group, Niall explained all during a chat with Australia's KIIS FM. “What happened there was, we'd just won three American Music Awards, and some people wanted to get straight to Australia and Harry here wanted to have a little party in Los Angeles,” he told hosts.

But Harry, possibly frightened his mum was listening, insisted he didn't just miss his flight to Oz for a party. He had a poorly ear too – probably from all the partying. “I also didn't feel very well so I didn't want to fly,” he said. “I wanted to wait out the storm to fly. My ear hurts.''

During their last trip to Australia, where Directioners really are a crazy bunch, superfans broke into Liam Payne's hotel rom and pinched a pair of his boxers! ''Now we leave them out as bait,” Harry joked. “We just leave pants around everywhere and set traps.''

The boyband hunk then got us all very excited, adding that they've all been given personalised Speedo trunks, teasing: “I've got mine on right now”. Oh my!

Well, Harry's got even more reason to celebrate today as One Direction have made U.S. history becoming the first band ever to debut at the top of the Billboard Top 200 with their first four albums with their latest album Four. We're guessing that poor ear's not going to get any rest soon, eh Harry?
