Giving credence to ongoing rumors about Kristen Wiig joining the cast of “Anchorman 2,” Christina Applegate posted a convincing tweet on Monday (February 4).

"So excited Kristen Wiig has joined our cast for Anchorman 2," Christina tweeted. “Going 2 b best movie ever made. Besides the best movies ever made."

As previously reported by GossipCenter, the “Bridesmaids” funny lady would play the love interest of Brick Tamland, the dopey weatherman played by “The Office” legend Steve Carell.

Reprising their roles from “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” are Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate, David Koechner, and Will Ferrell.

Production on the sequel is expected to get underway soon, and an October 2013 release date is projected.
