Taylor Swift Gets 'Grey's Anatomy' Inspiration for Her Kitten's Name

What is the inspiration behind the name Taylor Swift gives to her new Scottish Fold kitten? During a recent phone chat with Us Weekly, the country music star revealed that she named her kitty after Ellen Pompeo's character on "Grey's Anatomy", Meredith Grey.
Speaking from her home in Nashville on Tuesday, November 8, the 21-year-old said, "Her name is Meredith, Meredith Grey because she's a gray cat, and because I love 'Grey's Anatomy'!" She added that her new pet is "awesome," gushing further, "She's like one of those cats that give cats a good name."
The former girlfriend of Jake Gyllenhaal went on to share, "She doesn't hide under furniture and get weird around people." She added, "She's really friendly and fun and she's perfect for the road because she doesn't ever get freaked out."
"I'm really glad that she has a cool personality," Taylor, who also owns two Dobermans called Bug and Baby, said. She then explained that Meredith is a Scottish Fold, "so she has the awesome, weird ears. I love it. She's so cute... She's a good cat."
Taylor introduced Meredith on Thursday, November 3 by posting a picture of her and the kitten on Twitter. Along with the photo, she wrote, "Hanging out with my new roommate, Meredith." Shortly after that, Katy Perry tweeted back, "OH MY GOSH. Is this kitty for real?!?! I want to cuddle that kitten so hard!"
