Nicki Minaj Gets Eclectic, Demi Lovato Oozes Sexiness at MTV VMAs 2011

Nicki Minaj stole the attention at this year's MTV Video Music Awards. Arriving at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday (August 28) evening, the "Super Bass" raptress brought colors to the black carpet as she channeled her Harajuku Barbie alter-ego in one bizarre costume.
For the awards show, the "Your Love" hitmaker opted to wear a shiny, structural purple bodice with a frothy tutu under-pinning. As accessories, she donned a Japanese face mask and an ice-cream shaped necklace. She also let her hair be highlighted in pink and yellow, and twisted it into an unusual hairdo.
While Nicki got eclectic, former Disney darling Demi Lovato showed up in a more elegant style. The 19-year-old went with a cleavage-baring silver dress that accentuated her tan skin and brown locks. Her fellow teen star, Miley Cyrus, also looked sexy in a Roberto Cavalli dress that she paired with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Azzedine Alaia shoes.
Another Disney princess who became the belle of the ball with her glamorous look was Selena Gomez. The "Wizards of Waverly Place" star showed off her legs in a black Julien Mcdonald lace dress. She finished off her look with a pair of Brian Atwood heels, Ofira jewelry and a Judith Leiber clutch.
Serving as a pre-show host on the evening, the "Monte Carlo" actress got a chance to interview her boyfriend Justin Bieber, who came with his tiny snake Johnson. "What are you wearing?" so she asked her boyfriend. "I have a snake," replied the teen heartthrob, who donned black suit, red pants and big glasses, as he waved the animal to her, prompting her to squealed, "Stop! I know!"
R&B diva Beyonce Knowles, in the meantime, made a baby announcement upon her arrival at the show. Donning a bright orange Lanvin gown, the singer wife of Jay-Z posed with her hands holding her belly for the photographers. Confirming the happy news, MTV tweeted, "OMG Beyonce just made a huge announcement on the #vma carpet! #baby!!!!!"
Pink-haired Katy Perry, on the other hand, arrived in an Asian-themed dress and a paper parasol. Meanwhile, newlywed Kim Kardashian hit the black carpet in a KaufmanFranco plunging v-neck gown. Other stars who also stole the spotlight on their arrival were Britney Spears, Jessie J, as well as the "Jersey Shore" cast among others.
