MTV VMAs 2011: Katy Perry Collects Three Awards Including Top Honor

Katy Perry was a big winner at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. At the end of the awards event that took place at Nokia Theater, Los Angeles on Sunday evening (August 28), the wife of British funnyman Russell Brand successfully nabbed the most coveted award, Video of the Year, through her "Firework" clip.
Aside from the top prize, the "I Kissed a Girl" hitmaker also grabbed two more Moonmen during the event. Through her collaboration with Kanye West in hit single "E.T.", the 26-year-old songstress took home kudos for Best Collaboration and Best Special Special Effects.
Meanwhile, pop princess Britney Spears was granted a special Vanguard Award at the gig. The "Baby One More Time" hitmaker was honored in a special tribute led by Lady GaGa. Additionally, the blond beauty also received a prize for Best Pop Video for her clip "Till the World Ends".
Although the top honor was granted to the "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" singer, the artist who actually bagged the most trophies was Adele. The 23-year-old English singer grabbed four awards, including Best Art Direction, Editing, Cinematography and Direction, all for her "Rolling in the Deep" music video.
Another artist with multiple wins was Lady GaGa. She collected two trophies, including Best Female Video and Best Video with a Message all for her "Born This Way" clip. Other winners during the night included Beyonce Knowles, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber as well as Foo Fighters.
