Jennifer Lawrence Runs in Terror in New 'Hunger Games' Sneak Peek

Jennifer Lawrence once again takes center stage in a newly-released sneak peek from "The Hunger Games". Portraying teen heroine Katniss Everdeen, the Ree Dolly of "Winter's Bone" is seen running for her life in what seems to be the Hunger Games arena without her trademark bow and arrows.
This is the second preview shared in anticipation of a longer footage which will be presented by Jennifer during the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards this coming Sunday, August 28. The previous snippet shares a glimpse of the actress in Katniss' Hunger Games uniform as she ducks from some unseen danger.
Adapted from Suzzane Collins' novel of the same name, "Hunger Games" revolves around Katniss, who takes her little sister's spot in a fight-to-the death live televised event. While persevering through hardship is common for her, she must now start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love in order to win the games and return home.
In preparing herself to play Katniss, Jennifer admitted that she has done some special preparations. She told MTV last spring, "The training's actually really fun. I've done archery for like six weeks and rock climbing, tree climbing, combat and running and vaulting, but also yoga. Thing like that."
Jennifer, who will lend her voice for "Rue's Lullaby" in the movie's soundtrack, is joined in the cast ensemble by Liam Hemsworth, who will star as Gale Hawthorne, and Josh Hutcherson, who takes the role of Peeta Mellark. The movie itself is directed by Gary Ross, and will open wide in the United States on March 23, 2012.
