SINGAPORE: She’s back! She’s BAD. And she’s beautiful. How else can one describe Lady Gaga who is so super-cool, she makes ice seem lukewarm.
Despite being one the biggest stars in the music industry, Lady Gaga wearing trademark dark shades and best manners, declared “I’m so happy to back in Singapore… This is one of my favourite countries in the whole world. Thank you for having me back.”
Whirling in for a quickie with the media at the ArtScience Museum, the diva didn’t disappoint even though she was togged out in casual khaki.
With out-of-this-world hair and sky-high shoes, Lady Gaga who has now visited Singapore twice and each time for a mini show, titillated with the statement “I will be back in Singapore with the full tour next year. It’s a promise!”
With just eight minutes to spare for the news conference, it was down to just three questions. And the hullabaloo of the made-in-Singapore take of “Bad Romance” was not one of them … with media host Soo Kui Jien nixing the question before it could be completely leave the journalist’s news-hungry lips.
The focus stayed on promoting the “Born This Way” album the latest for the iconic lass born that way 25 years ago.
“The song [“Edge of Glory”] not only talks about the other side of life, but also about celebrating how far you’ve come” said the superstar born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta of her latest music video and single.
“[It is like] taking acknowledgement for myself as a 25 year old who’s been working so hard from the bottom up my whole life, what is it feel like to be in the edge of your glory. ”
Then, she was gone.
Transformed as the leader of the pack of ‘Lil Monsters’, she rewarded fans dolled up for the Singtel AMped showcase, both the latest and the best.
The crowd which included the few hundred spontaneous fans who dressed and performed as their idol to win tickets to the event, were treated to an hour with Lady Gaga who belted out “Born This Way”, “Edge of Glory”, “Hair” and “Judas”.
The seasoned ‘Mother Monster’ performer was as usual, perfect in almost everyway, singing, playing the piano and dancing throughout without much of a break when delivering the set which included all-time favourite hits like “Bad Romance”, “Alejandro”, ” Telephone” and “Just Dance”.
With bizarre props and costumes to complete the picture, it’s hard to imagine what feats await fans when Lady Gaga returns with her Born This Way ball tour.
