After MTV announced the nominations for their latest Video Music Awards, Lady Gaga fans didn’t take it so well that their favorite artist scored less nods than British songstress Adele.
Adele received seven nominations, including Video of the Year, Best Female Video, and Best Pop Video for her hit single, “Rolling in the Deep.” Gaga earned three, but only one of the majors in the Best Female Video category for “Born This Way.”
Gaga’s fans took to Twitter to attack the British singer and her weight because she didn’t sweep the Video Music Awards nominations like the previous year, when she earned 13. Insecure, much?
“Adele probably ate Lady Gaga’s other nominations,” said one angry tweeter. Others spoofed Gaga’s “Born This Way” lyrics to make them about how Adele was “born this weight.”
What’s surprising is there was no venom from fans for Katy Perry, who actually led the number of nominees this year with nine, including a nod in the Best Female Video category, where Adele and Gaga are both nominated as well.
Sounds like Lady Gaga’s little monsters are sounding more and more like real monsters. What would Gaga think?
