Demi Lovato Sets Release Date for New Album, Tour Plans

Following the success of first single “Skyscraper,” Demi Lovato announced the release date of her highly-anticipated new album, the first following her treatment for “emotional and physical issues.”

She announced via a live video chat with her fans that she’s lined up her third album, the first since 2008’s “Here We Go Again,” for Sept. 20.

“I’m feeling really, really comfortable on what we have so far,” Lovato said, revealing that she’s recorded over 20 tracks for the project, which will stray from her pop/rock beginnings and will lean more towards the “Skyscraper” sound.

“Skyscraper” became Lovato’s second top 10 hit this week when it debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #10. The last time she appeared at that mark was with her very first single, “This Is Me,” from “Camp Rock.”

“Skyscraper” and “This Is Me” surprisingly have even more in common. They both were released in Spanish versions as well, showing off Lovato’s Latin roots. She premiered the Spanish version of “Skyscraper” during the chat as well.

Lovato is also planning a tour, her first since she toured in support of “Camp Rock 2” with the Jonas Brothers, which saw her having to leave the tour early due to her breakdown.

“If I was to tour, I would announce it soon and maybe, possibly, I’m in the works of putting together a tour,” Lovato teased. “Maybe. And maybe it’ll be all around the world. I don’t know. I’m just saying.”
