Demi Lovato, the 18-year-old actress and singer, claims checking into rehab may have saved her life. During a candid interview with Ryan Seacrest for E! News, Lovato discussed her decision to seek help for issues including anorexia, bulimia and self-mutilation.
The young Disney star shocked fans in October 2010 after entering rehabilitation, but Demi insists she had no choice, saying, “I wasn’t going to continue to be alive if I continued to treat my body the way I was”. The entertainer says despite completing her treatment she is still on the road to recovery, explaining, “It’s a daily journey and it’s definitely going to be a struggle that I’ll have to deal with for the rest of my life.Sometimes I think, Why couldn’t I have been normal?” In the meantime, Lovato has returned with her new single ‘Skyscraper’, in which she sings about “coming back stronger than ever”. She first recorded the track almost a year ago during the peak of her problems and when her voice was much weaker, claiming she “ruining it by damaging it after every meal”.
Demi Lovato is currently putting the finishing touches to her third studio album. It was recently confirmed she was working with Timbaland’s younger brother ‘Sebastian’ for one of the tracks.
