More Taylor Swift-related Twitter drama! This time, it’s between the singer’s boyfriend, Calvin Harris, and former One Directioner, Zayn Malik.
It all started when Zayn seemingly took a jab at the female pop star. He retweeted a tweet from @FemaleTexts that negatively compared Taylor and Miley Cyrus' views on paying for music. The tweet included a screen shot of an interview between the “Bad Blood” singer and TIME in which she says fans who were disappointed they couldn’t listen to her music for free on Spotify could still purchase her songs on iTunes. It also featured a quote from the former “Hannah Montana” star explaining that she has already “made [her] money.” The tweet concluded with the caption, “The difference is astounding.”
But, Calvin wasn’t about to let the boy-bander imply that his girlfriend was only in it for the money. “@FemaleTexts @zaynmalik You’ve made your money? Cool…f**k the 99% of musicians who depend on these services to survive right? Yeah f**k em,” he fired back. He later added, “If u don’t get what it means when a successful artist uses their celebrity to benefit every other musician and songwriter in the industry…stay out my f**kin mentions pls.”
Zayn responded to the DJ-producer soon after. “@CalvinHarris ha you just made an absolute fool of yourself mate,” he tweeted. “You clearly didn’t understand what I just said either…so I suggest you calm your knickers before them dentures fall out…Oh and I write my own s**t too d**khead.”
Calvin (hopefully) ended the feud by tweeting, “@zaynmalik all good, it was the quote not you personally mat…best of luck, genuinely. You’ve got a great voice.”
