You’ll Never Guess What Caused Cameron Diaz’s Pre-Wedding Meltdown

Cameron Diaz was certainly no Bridezilla when she wed Benji Madden on Monday (Jan. 5) but the star did lose her cool in spectacular fashion moments before she was set to walk down the aisle, and it was all because of a power cut.

After getting engaged to the Good Charlotte frontman in December, there was hardly anytime to plan the wedding, but the 42-year-old managed to pull it all off, with the exception of one slight hiccup. Just before the event was due to kick off, the lights suddenly flickered and went out for 10 seconds, which lead Cameron to scream, “S**t, f**k, this is f***ed up. You've got to be f***ing kidding me!” a source told MailOnline.

Luckily for the blushing bride, the power soon came back and just five minutes later she was walking down the aisle in her Beverley Hills pad to the sound of Nat King Cole's Stardust. The Sex Tape star, who was dressed in a long white gown with a plunging back, was then able to keep her cool for the 15-minute Jewish ceremony, even though the nuptials didn't go quite as planned either.

Just as the pair were about to be handed the rings by their ring bearer Sparrow Madden - the son of Benji's twin brother Joel and Nicole Richie - the five-year-old accidentally dropped them and they rolled away. “The audience began to chuckle,” the source told the site. “But as both brothers - groom Benji and best man Joel - got on their hands and knees looking for it, the guests broke out into full laughter.”

The wedding party then made their way into a large marquee erected in the garden for the reception, where Cameron explained why she'd spoken out against marriage in the past. “I waited because I didn't want to settle,” she told her guests. She added, “Now I got the best man ever. My special man. He's mine.”

And despite a couple of hiccups, the guests certainly enjoyed themselves. “It was a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony,” a source told Us Weekly, whilst the newlyweds released a statement saying, "We couldn't be happier to begin our new journey together surrounded by our closest family and friends."
