We're only one month into 2015 and already it's shaping up to be an amazing year for Zooey Deschanel! On January 14 the New Girl star announced she was pregnant with her first child and now she's set to wed her baby daddy, Jacob Pechenik.
According to Us Weekly, the 34-year-old is set to tie the knot with her producer boyfriend, Jacob, 42, who she began dating in mid-2014. The pair met after working together on her latest movie Rock The Kasbah, about a washed-up American music manager strikes up a friendship with a girl with an amazing voice in Afghanistan.
Zooey was pretty heartbroken last summer after splitting from her boyfriend of two years, Jamie Linden, in July. But it seems Jacob was able to pull her out of her slump and the pair seem like they couldn't be happier. This will be Zooey's second marriage, as she was previously wed to Death Cab for Cutie vocalist Ben Gibbard; they split in 2012 after two years of marriage.

It's not known when Zooey and Jacob will make it down the aisle, but their baby is due in the summer and she just can't wait to be a mummy! “Jacob and I are over the moon,” she told People. “We are so excited to meet our little one.” And the timing couldn't be better, as her older sister Emily, who stars on Bones, is pregnant with her second child. Emily and her hubby David Hornsby announced the news back in December, which means the sisters will be adding to their families within a relatively close timeframe.
Zooey's pregnancy has come as a complete surprise as last year she warned the media not to ask her about babies. Speaking to Instyle magazine she explained that she was sick of the sexist double standards surrounding the "do you want kids" question. “Like every woman is dying to give birth! I don't think so,” she said. “Nobody asks guys that. And you go into a supermarket and every tabloid is like, ‘;Pregnant and Alone!' Stuck in the 1950s ideal of how a woman should live her life. This brings out the fiery feminist in me.”
Unfortunately for New Girl fans, Zooey's pregnancy won't be written into the storyline, as confirmed by her co-star Jake Johnson, who plays Nick. "Jess is not going to have a baby," he revealed. "It'd be a weird 'Three Men And A Baby' vibe." But he was full of love for his co-star, telling E! News, "She's a good friend and this is an awesome thing in her life. I think she's going to be a great mom." The fourth season of the show is currently airing in the US, coming to a close in May.
