Oscar Snub Club: The Lego Movie, David Oyelowo & Jennifer Aniston

With so many great movies and such a selection of moving performances, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences members had their work cut out for them when choosing the nominations for the 87th Oscars. And unfortunately there were quite a few worthy contenders that went unnoticed by the time the hopefuls were announced this morning (January 15).

“Cake” star Jennifer Aniston failed to get a nomination for Best Actress, despite plenty of buzz as well as a Screen Actors Guild nod.

Additionally, “Selma” actor David Oyelowo was passed over for a Best Actor mention and his director Ava DuVernay was left out of the Best Director category. Jessica Chastain apparently didn’t merit a nomination for “A Most Violent Year,” and “The Lego Movie” somehow missed the Academy’s radar for Best Animated Movie.
