‘I Grew Up Too Fast’: Kendall Jenner Opens Up About Life As A Child Star

She may have forged a successful career as a model and be part of America's most infamous family, but growing up in the spotlight has certainly taken it's toll on Kendall. Having been catapulted to stardom at the age of 12 when Keeping Up With The Kardashians first aired, Kendall Jenner, now 19, has spent a large chunk of her life in the spotlight.

In fact, having achieved so much, it's easy to forget that the reality star is still just a teenager. But as she revealed to The Wall Street Journal's lifestyle magazine, WSJ, it's the thought of leaving her teens that really worries her. “I feel like I grew up too fast a long time ago,” she admitted.

“Having older siblings, you grow up around adults, so you mature more quickly. I saw my sisters and parents working every day, so I was pretty much brought up to be a workaholic. But I just turned 19 a couple weeks ago, and I'm scared to be 20 - it's the first step out of being a teenager.”

Kendall celebrated her birthday back in November, and whilst she realises that she can't slow down the ageing process, she's determined to have fun and cling on to her childhood for as long as she can. “My sister Khloé always says to me and my younger sister, Kylie: You have your whole life to be an adult but only so long to be a kid. And we get it,” she revealed.

“In the right situations, I try to be as immature as I can sometimes - react to things as if I were 12. You can't take things too seriously. I just laugh thinking about my dad [Bruce Jenner] being a teenager, partying. It's the funniest thing. And it makes me think—what am I going to be like when I'm 65?”

But despite being 19, Kendall has achieved more than many people twice her age! Not only has the star modelled for the likes of Marc Jacobs and Chanel, but she was recently named the face of Estée Lauder, with the beauty brand hailing her as a "fashion muse," "It Girl," "cover star" and "Instagram sensation."

The former child star also made Time magazine's 25 Most Influential Teens of 2014 list, which she said was an “honour.” Talking to E! News with little sister Kylie, who also made the cut, she gushed, "There are incredible teens on this list and we are so proud to be in their company."
