Calvin Harris And John Newman Have Worked On Rihanna’s Album Together

There are so many rumoured collaborations going on to Rihanna's album that it seems there will barely be any room for her, and now one act we thought was definitely off the tracklisting is apparently back - and he's even brought a friend along for the ride.

Calvin Harris was thought to have been left out of the album because he never heard back about potential tracks he submitted for Rihanna to take a listen to, but now his chum John Newman has said that the chart topping pair - who hit No1 with their late summer collaboration Blame last year - are in fact working on songs for R8 together.

Calvin, 31, previously played down rumours of his involvement by saying: "No, I'm not on the Rihanna album. I did a few things for it but they don't get back to you, there are a lot of people involved. ... It's okay because I'm working on my stuff and it's going fine."

But now John has confirmed in a new interview that he and Calvin have been in the studio together working on material for her eighth studio album R8, which of course could see Calvin recreate the huge success they had with We Found Love back in 2011.

The soulful singer confessed that working on that project with Calvin had led to the pair also booking time to work on tracks for the follow-up to his hugely successful debut album Tribute which went straight in at No1 in October 2013. He is hoping working alongside one of the biggest DJ's and producers in the world will also help him to become a well know artist in the US.

Talking to Billboard magazine 24-year-old John admitted: "We started to look at tracks to put together for Rihanna. Then we have booked some time to work on my album. It feels like a Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars kind of thing, where I work with somebody for a long time. I've had more time to think and pull it all together on this record. And hopefully, I'll have more of a presence in America."
