It has been plagued with mixed reviews and it turns out “Exodus: Gods and Kings” had enough momentum to score the #1 spot at the box office this weekend.
The Christian Bale epic ended up raking in $24.5 million over the past few days, coming in well above the much-beloved “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1,” which earned $13.2 million.
However, don’t worry too much about the Mockingjay crew- the flick has made more than $277,398,000 since its November debut. Rounding out the top five are “The Penguins of Madagascar ($7.3 million), “Top Five” ($7.2 million) and “Big Hero Six” ($6.1 million).
