Ri-Ri In Red! Rihanna Rocks Old Hollywood Glamour At The Diamond Ball

Rihanna was a vision in red at the 2014 Diamond Ball on Thursday night, held at The Vineyard in Beverly Hills.

The 26-year-old looked stunning in a floor-length Zac Posen gown that hugged her curves and showed off her ample cleavage. With a flaring train and dramatic sleeves that hung off the shoulder, she oozed old Hollywood glamour as she walked the red carpet.

Accessorising with a diamond and ruby Chopard necklace and matching rings, with bracelets covering her tattooed wrist, the look was far more elegant than her usual flesh-flashing ensembles. However, Ri-Ri didn't completely abandon her signature style, accentuating her plump pout with berry lipstick and highlighting her eyes with a slick of eyeliner whilst her long dark locks were pulled back into an elegant low ponytail.

The first annual ball was envisioned by Rihanna to promote The Clara Lionel Foundation, an organisation she founded in 2012. Named in honour of her grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite, the foundation seeks to improve quality of life in areas of health, education, culture and arts for communities worldwide.

“Feel so lucky to have an evening like this, to spend with people with hearts like mine, who want to change and save lives at any cost,” she tweeted. “There's so much to do, and I can't do it all by myself, so I have to thank all of the supporters of and people who donated to #TheClaraLionelFoundation Looking forward to seeing you later this evening.”

But whilst she may have spent months organising the ball, the work wasn't over for the Diamonds hitmaker just yet, as she took to the stage to perform, after being introduced by Brad Pitt. Jimmy Kimmel reportedly served as host whilst attendees included, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Selma Hayek and Nikki Reed.

Ahead of the event, Rihanna released a statement which read, "There is truly nothing I'm more proud of, and we've just gotten started. I'm excited to continue my work and thrilled to be able to host the Diamond Ball – a night that promises to be elegant and inspirational."
