Anna Kendrick & Meryl Streep Team Up for Academy Members Screening of “Into the Woods”

It’s one of the most anticipated films of the season and last night (December 9) Anna Kendrick and Meryl Streep gave the Academy of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences members an exclusive look at “Into the Woods” in New York City.

The “Pitch Perfect” actress and the “Devil Wears Prada” legend were joined by Joe Neumaier and Rob Marshall at The Academy Theatre at Lighthouse International as they fielded questions after the screening.

In a recent interview, Anna confessed that while she was grateful to play the role of Cinderella in the movie, she really wanted a completely different part. "They told me an actual 12-year-old [Lilla Crawford] would play Little Red Riding Hood. In the show it's a grown woman, so I was like, 'Put me in! I can do it!'"

"This was a dream come true. When I found out that they were making this into a movie, I just hoped and prayed and wished and wished, and it's such a gift. I feel forever grateful to [director] Rob Marshall."
