Angelina Jolie Says She Would Rather Have ‘A Strong Marriage’ Than More Kids

Angelina Jolie has insisted that despite her wedding to Brad Pitt in August this year, the newlyweds have absolutely no plans to have any more kids. The actress turned director says she wants to be the best parent that she can possibly be to their six children: 13-year-old Maddox, 11-year-old Pax, 9-year-old Zahara, 8-year-old Shiloh and 6-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. However, who knows what the future holds says Ange, who has already surprised herself, and all of us, this year by marrying husband Brad after nine years together and announcing that she has semi-retired from acting to become a director.

The 39-year-old became a beacon for single mums across the world in the naughties with her ‘;you really can have it all' attitude and has gone to become one of, if not the, most admired mothers in the world with her mini brood of six. But when asked if she could see anymore tots in the pipeline, she admitted that the likelihood was: “Not at the moment, no”. However, she's also not ruling the possibility out completely. "Something could change tomorrow,” she told People magazine, with whom she graces their latest cover, "so I don't know."

In August, Brad and Ange famously confirmed they had married in a secret ceremony at their romantic French chateau, joined by just a few select family and friends and their six mini wedding planners; all of which helped put together their big day. “I want to have a strong marriage,” she explained to the magazine, “and I want to raise my children well.”

Besides, Bradgelina are already coming face to face with the many battles faced with raising a teenager as she revealed on Tuesday that her eldest are,"already asking me about tattoos". The Oscar winner, who is of course famously inked herself, admitted that Brad is less keen on the idea, but in an interview with the Radio Times, she says: “How do I say 'No'? It's especially hard for dads and girls. For some reason, men get a little more sensitive when the daughter gets a tattoo. And [Brad Pitt] thinks the girls can do no wrong. He's mush in their hands!"

An easier obstacle that the Hollywood power couple have worked out how to overcome though is the possibility that their kids may follow their footsteps into acting. "We've always said, if they want to act, we won't let them only act, because it's not enough," the Changeling starlet assured. "They'll have to find a real job at the same time. But I'm hoping that when they see all the other things in the world, they'll be inspired to be writers, politicians, activists. They're very individual people," she said, "so I imagine they're not going to follow their mom and dad."

Angelina recently claimed that she has always felt “uncomfortable” acting, confessing that she is “much happier,” directing to Du Jour magazine. She currently has three up and coming projects as director: Africa, Under The Sea and Unbroken, the gripping biopic of Olympian Louis Zamperini who became a prisoner of war after surviving 47 days stranded at sea during World War II. The film, starring rising star Jack O' Connell, is favourite for a Best Director Oscar nomination for Angelina in 2015 and opens in cinemas naionwide this Boxing Day.
