Robert Pattinson's hair is a phenomenon all on it's own so when he steps out with a new haircut, it's a pretty big deal. This one might be the biggest one yet though, as Rob has not only gone for a hipster style undercut he's also shaved a small rectangle on the back of his head?!
Looks like girlfriend FKA Twigs might have got a bit crazy with the clippers, as Rob showed off the new look at the GO Campaign's 7th Annual Go Go Gala at the Montage Beverley Hills Hotel on Thursday night in Los Angeles. Looking daper on the red carpet, Rob has lost the beard he's been sporting recently and seemed clean shaven and rather smart, until he turned round to show off the perfectly shaved rectangle on the back of his head.

We're not completely sure if the back of the head soul patch is a trend that will catch on but as Hollywood's resident hipster, Rob is always going to be ahead of the crowd. The new hairstyle could well be for a movie role, though not 1970s gangster heist Idol's Eye, which was shutdown last month by the studio. Rob was meant to be filming the Robert DeNiro movie in Toronto over the next few weeks, but it was confirmed very last minute that financing issues were to blame for why it wasn't going ahead. He still had the beard when he flew into LA at the end of October, but it was gone by November 6 when he and Twigs were spotted going for a date night in New York. Rob might have been hiding this new haircut for a while.

It's been a bit of a ride for Rob's locks over the last few years. He shaved it all off at the beginning of 2013 though, for his role in The Rover, when he spent three months sweating in the Australian outback for the Guy Pearce sci-fi thriller. Our favourite haircut will always be the floppy locks he showed off in Twilight though, as Edward Cullen. The flicking and teasing of THAT fringe made us fall in love with him ALOT. Luckily, he can still do this! Phewf!
