Miranda Lambert And Blake Shelton Blast Marriage Trouble Reports: ‘People Make Up Lies’

The Couple Are Often Plagued By Divorce Reports

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are tired of people “making up lies” about their marriage and the constant reports that they are on the verge of divorce, and the country couple have set the record straight once and for all, stating that they’ll be keeping their private life out of the spotlight.

The lovebirds, who tied the knot in May 2011, are often subjected to false allegations that they are unhappy in their marriage and have split but against all the rumours and speculation, they’ve defied critics by staying together. Speaking about the scrutiny their marriage receives, Miranda, 30, told 60 Minutes: “We feel like we're very honest with who we are and our relationship. We've kinda told the good, the bad, the ugly as our relationship has progressed from the beginning till now.

"And people dig anyway and they make up lies, so I feel like, we don't really hold back, because if you hold back they're going to dig anyway so might as well just tell it. He's somebody who’s impossible to fight with because he's always in a good mood,” she added of the argument reports. Although everything’s great now, the couple’s relationship started shrouded in controversy as Blake, 38, was still married to Kaynette Gern when they met in 2005 and he admits it was one of the worst times of his life. "That was easily the toughest thing that I've ever been through. I put that, my divorce, up there with my brother's death, and that was a tough, tough call to make,” Blake explained of his divorce from Kaynette in 2006.

Both Miranda and Blake tour extensively around the country meaning they often spend weeks apart but she says their ranch in Oklahoma is their safe-haven of privacy, adding: "If we don't protect that, then we have nothing. We have to have something that's just for us. At some point you just have to go, 'All right, this is it, this is our line, you know?' We have our one little area of the world that no one can come into."
