Michelle Rodriguez has definitely had a tumultuous year. Her romance with Cara Delevingne fizzled out, her brief fling with Zac Efron ended almost as fast as it began, and she also lost her good friend Paul Walker in a tragic car accident.
Now the 36-year-old actress is admitting that this year has definitely taken a toll on her. Therefore, she wants to take a break from acting to recover from her heartbreak.
“This year has been too much and I need some time out,” she told Standard.co.uk. “I've been working hard and now I want time off. That's what I do. Work hard, play hard. I don't think that's much to ask or want.”

Although her initial comment seemed like her timeout is due to working too hard, she then added that it's also because she's experienced a lot of heartbreak this year.
“I don't have anything in the pipeline at the moment. I'm free. I had so much heartbreak last year that I am taking a year off to do something different, like write,” she said.

Michelle doesn't plan to just sit on her butt and do nothing in during her break however, she wants to put time into her own movie scripts.
“I don't know what yet — maybe movie scripts or TV shows but something creative as that's my passion. I've wanted to do it for a while and now would be great,“ she explains. “Hopefully in a couple of years it will pay off and you'll see my work on the big screen or the TV. That would be f***ing awesome man. How cool would it be? Hopefully I will see the results and my career will progress in a different way.”
