She ended up the biggest star of the whole movie thanks to her role as Cady Heron in “Mean Girls,” but Lindsay Lohan actually wanted a completely different part.
During a cast reunion interview for Entertainment Weekly, the “Georgia Rule” gal confessed she was hoping to play nasty ringleader Regina George, played by Rachel McAdams.
LiLo explained, “I was still 17 years old and I wanted to be the cool girl on set,” but Ms. McAdams nailed it instead.
Rachel added in, “She seemed so deliciously wicked and borderline evil. I was quite a bit older at the time — I was, like, 24 or 25.”
Additionally, Tina Fey told of how she was unable to help Lindsay with an ongoing feud that served as a distraction. “There was one day where she tried to explain to Amy [Poehler] and me her beef with Hilary Duff, but we couldn’t crack it. But we were pretending we could follow it.”
