Rumours of Miley Cyrus dating Patrick Schwarzenegger have been flowing since she was spotted sneaking out of his apartment a couple of weeks ago and now it seems his mum Maria Shriver is less than happy about her son's choice of lady friend, disapproving of the singer.
A new report suggests that Maria, 59, thinks that Patrick is surrounding himself with the wrong kind of person by being with Miley and is really concerned about the things she stands for in the public eye tainting his character. In fact it's claimed she would prefer him to meet a nice, educated young woman. Ouch.
A source close to Maria told Hollywoodlife: "Maria has very strong ideas about what Patrick should be doing with his life and who he should be spending time with and Miley does not fit that plan at all.”
They went on to explain that while the concerned mum won't publicly voice her concerns for her 21-year-old son, behind the scenes she is piling on the pressure to make him see where she is coming from and ditch Miley, 21, before it gets too serious.

The insider added: “Maria's never going to come out and say something negative about Miley — that's not her style — but she is pressuring Patrick to drop her. It's a big concern because she sees what Miley stands for: the drugs, the promiscuity. She thinks Miley is bad news. She is very concerned about the influence this could have on Patrick.”
Apparently she already knows who she would prefer him to be with. They continued: “Maria wants Patrick to get back together with his ex-girlfriend, and if not her, at least someone that goes to a university, someone educated.”
But if there's one person who isn't supporting Maria on her mission it's Patrick's Hollywood movie star dad Arnold Schwarzenegger. The source added: “He's telling her to let Patrick do whatever he wants. This is dividing the family even more.”
