Bill Cosby Shuts Down Rape Allegation Questioning from Associated Press

As more women come to the surface to accuse Bill Cosby of sexual assault, the Associate Press decided to release previously unseen footage from an interview held earlier this month.

In the exchange, an AP reporter asked Cosby about the rape accusations against him to which Bill refused to respond and asked for the segment to be cut from broadcast.

The interview was conducted on November 6 in Washington. Cosby sits alongside his wife and the reporter says that they have to ask about the newly-resurfaced rape claims. Cosby quickly responds, “No, no. We don’t answer that.”

When the journalist keeps pushing and asks if it should change the public’s perception of him, Bill responds, “There is no comment about that. And I’ll tell you why. I think you were told — I don’t want to compromise your integrity — but I don’t talk about it.”

At the end of the interview, Bill brings up the exchange and asks the reports, “Now can I get something from you? That none of that will be shown. I know I didn’t say anything. But I’m asking with your integrity that since I didn’t want to say anything, but I did answer you in terms of I don’t want to say anything, to what value will it have… And I would appreciate it if it was scuttled.”

In addition, Cosby states that with the nature of the outlet, he didn’t think he needed to review the questions in advance. He goes on to question the journalist and outlet’s “integrity.” He also told a member of his team to get on with the phone with the reporter’s boss “immediately.”
