Benedict Cumberbatch Plays The Imitation Game, Impersonates Taylor Swift, Tom Hiddleston And More! (WATCH)

Benedict Cumberbatch may be causing some premature Oscar buzz surrounding his new movie The Imitation Game, but quite frankly, we've never seen anything more worthy of a coveted golden statue than his impersonations of some of some of our favourite stars. The actor is renowned for his impersonations but his performance in this clip playing MTV's the imitation game really is something special.

Seizing the challenge to do as many impersonations as possible in 60 seconds, impersonations which are all pretty darn good too, the Sherlock star takes on the likes of Taylor Swift, Tom Hiddleston, Jack Nicholson and Sean Connery to name just a few, and nailing them all in a minute. Incredible!

We were first made aware of Bene's impressive impressions when he cracked us up with his alarmingly perfect Chewbacca on Graham Norton's BBC chat show. In his time he's also played Doctor Who's David Tennant, and Jonathon Ross, or Woss as he joked, as well as taking Jimmy Fallon on an Alan Rickman off during an appearance on The Tonight Show.

It's no wonder then, the British star has been called upon to play some of the most important figures of today and yesteryear. Following his impeccable performance as Wikileaks founder Julian Assange with his new role as English mathematician Alan Turning, the professor who helped to crack the Enigma code during World War II, but was sadly unrecognised as one of the most influential people of the 20th century due to his homosexuality, portrayed in his groundbreaking new picture The Imitation Game which opens in cinemas nationwide today.
