They’ve always been a bit different than most Hollywood couples, and even in their split Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow seem determined to do things their own way.

The “Fix You” rocker and his “Sliding Doors” estranged wife have reportedly rented homes in the Hamptons that are basically right next to each other.

Martin is living in LA Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak’s mansion while Paltrow is in another luxury house just a short walk away.

Last week, Chris attempted to explain the unique situation he has with his ex- “We are very close. We are not together but we’re . . . you know . . . that’s the truth and that’s it. There’s lots of love. No scandal.”
