He’s always up for a challenge, and Tom Hardy finally made it official- he’s starring in “The Revenant” alongside Leonardo DiCaprio.

The “Dark Knight Rises” hunk will work under the direction of “Babel” helmsman Alejandro González Iñárritu and the film is based on a novel by Michael Punke.

Per the synopsis, “The story centers on the 1820s' story of a frontiersman, Hugh Glass, who set out on a path of vengeance against those who left him for dead after a bear mauling.”

Also on board is “We’re The Millers” star Will Poulter. Production is slated to begin sometime in the Fall, with a late 2015 release date.
