Sarah Hyland Slams Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Cinderella” Broadway Casting

She’s never been one to keep her opinions to herself, and Sarah Hyland is pretty upset that Carly Rae Jepsen has been tapped for a 12-week run in the Broadway production of “Cinderella.”

The “Modern Family” actress took to her Twitter account to share her concern last week- "Today's a meltdown day. Carly Rae Jepsen is going to be Cinderella??? On Broadway??? NOT OK WITH THIS.”

From there, Hyland reached out to Laura Osnes, the current star of the show, for reassurance-"Tell me it's gonna be OK @LauraOsnes."

Realizing how harsh she sounded, Sarah added, "Hoping she will be amazing. I’m hesitant though..." followed by, "To avoid anyone assuming things? My previous tweets do not mean that I'm not a Carly Rae Jepsen fan. The end."

Meanwhile, Jepsen couldn’t be happier about the gig- "Broadway has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl, and I look forward to working with this incredibly talented cast to tell this classic tale."
