In a sad turn of events, former Ms. Venezuela Mónica Spear was shot and killed in Caracas, Venezuela on Monday (January 6).

The 29-year-old beauty queen's ex-husband was also killed during a robbery attempt on the Puerto Cabello-Valencia highway while her 5-year-old-daughter survived.

According to reports, the beauty queen-turned-actress' rental car was involved in a minor accident when armed men opened fire on the vehicle.

Miss Spear won the title of Miss Venezuela in 2004 and began acting in telenovelas shortly after.
