Miles Teller & Robert Redford Check Out “Whiplash” Sundance Premiere

He founded the 2014 Sundance Film Festival 30 years ago, and Robert Redford was pleased to greet Miles Teller at the premiere of “Whiplash” last night (January 16) in Park City, Utah.

The “That Awkward Moment” hunk hammed it up with Redford as well as Festival Director John Cooper at the Eccles Center Theater prior to the much-anticipated screening.

In the movie, Miles plays a jazz drumming student who is pushed to the edge of sanity by his drill sergeant-flavored instructor, played by J.K. Simmons.

Of the gig, Teller told press he handled the majority of the drumming duties. "I've been drumming since I was 15. I played in a couple of rock bands…but jazz is a high art. Jazz is a totally different beast. I'd say I drum like 70 percent. Whatever Natalie Portman said about [her dancing in] Black Swan, like 80 percent? I'll say that."
