“Lone Survivor” Storms the Box Office

Folks looking to get out of the house after being stuck inside most of the week due to the cold and snow flocked to the box office over the weekend, putting "Lone Survivor" on pace to take first place for January 10-12, 2103.

The new Mark Wahlberg drama about the failed Operation Red Wings scored $13.5 million on Friday and is set for a three day total of $36 million.

After spending last week at number one, Disney Animation's adventure comedy "Frozen" finished up Friday with $3 million and is on track for a weekend total of $14 million.

Rounding out the top five in earmarked earnings are the Leonardo DiCaprio crime comedy "The Wolf of Wall Street" ($8.6 million) in third, David O. Russell's crime drama "American Hustle" ($8.5 million) and the adventure fantasy "The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug" ($7.9 million) in fifth.
