BAFTA Announces Rising Star Nominees

Each year they select a few up-and-coming actors for their Rising Star Award, and this time around BAFTA has plenty of hopefuls from which to choose.

“We’re the Millers” hunk Will Poulter made the cut thanks to a high profile year in 2013 and some screen time kissing Jennifer Aniston and Emma Roberts.

He explained, "It still hasn't really sunk in, but to be in a range of films that vary in budget and style is something I'm very grateful for and something I hope I can continue with. But to be recognized alongside these guys is phenomenal."

Also up for the trophy is “Sunshine On Leith” star George MacKay. "I'm blessed that I didn't worry too much about it when I was a kid or overthink things, and I learned a lot unconsciously, but now I'm really ready and excited to learn as much as I can and do as much different work as I can to make a concerted effort to think for myself about what I want to do and carve a path for myself."

“12 Years a Slave” actor Lupita Nyong’o, Lea Seydoux, and Dane DeHaan are also on the Rising Star list, and the winner will be revealed on Sunday, February 16th.
