With production ready to begin, Emilia Clarke won the honor of playing as the new Sarah Connor, the sci-fi action hero, in the upcoming Terminator remake.

Deadline reported that the "Game of Thrones" starlet will join Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jason Clarke as an older portrayal of the iconic John Connor.

"Terminator" will be the first film within a stand-alone trilogy, and will be directed by Alan Taylor, responsible for the production of "Thor: The Dark World."

The groundbreaking James Cameron is also slated to write the characters, and "Shutter Island's" Laeta Kalogridis will be responsible for the screenplay. The sci-fi flick is set for release on July 1st, 2015.
