Rachel Zoe in Capitol File: The Truth Is, I Love What I Do

She's one of the most well known designers in the fashion industry, so it's no surprise that Rachel Zoe was selected to cover Capitol File magazine's Fall Fashion issue.

While looking absolutely gorgeous in designer garbs from Bottega Veneta and Eric Javits for the Brian Bowen Smith-shot spread, the 42-year-old fashionista dished about her career before her son Skyler was born and even revealed who her first client was.

Check out a few highlights from Miss Zoe's Q&A session below. For more, be sure to visit Capitol File!

On her first designer gig:
"My mother says that my first client was 8 years old. There was this boy, and I hated how he dressed. I took out his clothes and laid them out for him."

On her career:
"I work literally every day until I had my son. But when you love it, it doesn't feel like a job. The truth is, I love what I do."

On her television series:
"'The Rachel Zoe Project' was meant to be a show solely based on fashion and designers and all of that, and clearly it wasn't. I was like, 'Oh, I don't want my personal life in television."

On her life as a mom:
"When you're a parent, you kind of approach things differently. It's a much healthier approach. It's knowing what are the most important things in your life versus things you used to think were pretty earth-shattering."
