Ben Affleck Confirmed as Batman in “Man of Steel” Sequel

Sure to please fans worldwide, it was announced on Thursday evening (August 22) that Ben Affleck has been confirmed to play Batman in the upcoming "Man of Steel" sequel.

In a statement, director of the flick Zack Snyder says, “Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.”

The still-untitled movie is slated to open in theaters on July 17, 2015 and will be the first time that fans get to catch Superman and Batman in the same film.

Affleck will star alongside current "Man of Steel" actor Henry Cavill. Already a success, the Zack Snyder-directed film, which hit theaters earlier this year, has already earned more than $650 million worldwide to date.
