Lil Wayne Apologizes to Emmett Till’s Family During Concerts in Atlanta, Nashville

Lil Wayne has already released a public statement apologizing to the family of Emmett Till for using the slain teenager’s name in reference to his skills in the bedroom in the remix to the song “Karate Chop” by Future.

He vowed to never utter the offensive “beat the p**sy up like Emmett Till” line again, and it seems like Weezy is sticking to his promise because during recent concerts for his “America’s Most Wanted” tour featuring T.I., the rapper has been changing up the lyrics to the song, instead paying respect to Till and his family.

During the tour’s opening night in Nashville, Tennessee, Wayne said as he rapped his verse from “Karate Chop”:

“Pop a lot of pain pills / Bout to put rims on my skateboard wheels”

“I apologize to the family of Emmett Till.”

I attended last Friday’s concert in Atlanta (great show, by the way!), and he did the same thing there too, which leads me to believe that he’s doing this throughout the tour, which is a very good idea.

Lil Wayne performed in Florida Saturday night — the same night George Zimmerman was acquitted for killing Trayvon Martin — and afterward, he tweeted:
