Honoring a young star taken much too soon, fans held a memorial vigil for Cory Monteith outside the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver, Canada on Friday (July 19).

Just one week earlier, the "Glee" star was found dead inside the hotel after mixing heroin and alcohol.

During the three-hour event, fans released balloons dedicated to the late actor, lit candles, sang, and enjoyed a tribute played by Cory's cousin, Richard Monteith.

Absent was the 31-year-old star's long-time girlfriend and co-star, Lea Michele, who is "grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangement with them."
