Showing some love to his Spanish fans, Steve Carell showed up at the Madrid photocall for his new animated flick “Despicable Me 2” today (June 18).

The “Evan Almighty” actor was joined by national celebrities like Florentino Fernandez, Patricia Conde, and Xuso Jones as he hammed it up for the shutterbugs at the Villamagna Hotel.

And though he’s considered one of the top players in Tinseltown, Steve told press that his children see him as pretty dull.

“They know I’m not a cool guy. I think the key to being a cool dad is to not ever attempt to be cool. As soon as you start doing that, your kids think you’re lame. So, if you’re just a dad, that’s good.”
