The kin of the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes reportedly feels “betrayed” over the remaining members of TLC recording a new version of “Waterfalls” that doesn’t include the late rapper’s classic verse.

In honor of the 20th anniversary of TLC, T-Boz and Chilli crafted a new version of their 1990′s hit, only they replaced Left Eye with Japanese pop star Namie Amuro. She has been described as the “Britney Spears of Japan.”

So obviously, this sounds like a good idea for the sake of chasing the yen versus making memorable music stateside.

Left Eye’s sister, Reigndrop Lopes, told TMZ, “I did not know about it until a fan posted it online. I mean it would have been nice if they would have given us a heads up before being surprised.”

Reigndrop went on to say that Mama Left Eye “was shocked and hurt as well … because she felt keeping Lisa on the song would have honored her daughter’s memory.”

Mind you, they played the original version to death when it dropped so I am no longer to enjoy it in any freaking capacity. Ditto for “One Sweet Day.” Maybe you’ll have better luck, though.
