After spending the last two weeks in a hospital bed recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident, George Michael went home on Wednesday (May 29).

The “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” crooner was taken to the hospital on May 16 after the Range Rover in which he was a passenger went off the road.

Though at the time his rep told the media Michael has suffered only “superficial cuts,” the first responder’s claimed the 49-year-old sustained a head injury.

Confirming his release from the medical facility, a message was posted to his official website stating: "We can confirm that George Michael has been discharged from hospital and continues to rest and recuperate. He is well and thanks everyone for all the messages of support."
