Orlando Bloom to Star in “Romeo and Juliet” on Broadway

Hitting the Broadway stage for the first time in 36 years, "Romeo and Juliet" will return with Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad in the titular roles.

No stranger to the stage, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star previously performed in a West End production of Divid Storey's "In Celebration."

Opening to the public on September 19th, "Romeo and Juliet" begins preview shows on August 24th at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in NYC.

Speaking about the casting choices, director David Leveaux said, "They could have been any number of different ethnicities. The two actors I wanted to be together producing sparks just happened to be those two and I followed my nose in casting the families."
