Stepping out in style in the Big Apple, Eva Mendes left her hotel for a busy day in the city on Wednesday (April 17).

The "Place Beyond the Pines" star looked gorgeous in a black-and-white coat over her short blue-and-black dress with brown heeled boots and a large blue handbag.

While promoting the film co-starring real-life beau Ryan Gosling, the 39-year-old actress spoke with ReeLivewithJane about her role as Romina.

When asked what parts of her life she used to find her character, Eva explained, "[I]t was the idea of coming from nothing. We weren’t poor, but we were lower, lower middle class, and [I was familiar] with the struggle."
